ECONOTECH:
Economic Education WebQuests

These WebQuests were created by the Bessie B. Moore Center for Economic Education with an Excellence in Economic Education grant from the National Council on Economic Education through the United States Department of Education Office of Innovation and Improvement. The Sam M. Walton College of Business has terrific technology support staff as well as state-of-the-art equipment. Arkansas has an excellent pool of creative economic educators. The Moore Center utilized these resources to create a team of teachers who created the WebQuests on this site. The Moore Center is an outreach program for educators. It is sponsored by the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

These economic education WebQuests were created for use by teachers around the globe who want to use the Internet and its world wide web of resources to facilitate learning of economics in their classes. WebQuests are available for students in grades four through twelve. These WebQuests are designed to be approximately a week in length. In a couple of cases the secondary teachers require more in-depth research that will take more than a week. They can be completed without much preparation by the teacher. Scoring guidelines or expectations have been provided when appropriate. Please provide feedback to us as you use these instructional materials.

Special thanks go to the selected teachers who poured hours of creativity and professional expertise into this project. Joey Huston, technology specialist and EconomicsAmerica coordinator, helped Dr. Rita Littrell with the technology component of the class. The Arkansas Council on Economic Education helped support the EconoTech project in order to make it a state-wide initiative.
